MOORESVILLE, NC – Darin Mock and the No. 51 AAN Adjusters Ford
Mustang team had a solid weekend at Road Atlanta earning a seventh-place finish
in their TA2 TransAm Series race.
Mock and the Nitro Motorsports team started the weekend off by placing eighth in
practice and followed that up by qualifying 10 th for the 34-lap race.
Starting the race under wet conditions made it a bit challenging for the 37-car field.
As the race ticked on, drier conditions started prevailing. This played into Mock’s
hands with him running steady and consistent lap times in the top 10.
“We unloaded off the hauler with a really fast race car,” Mock said. “That’s always
a great way to start the race weekend when you have a great practice like we did.
Ron Otto (Crew Chief), Nick Tucker (Owner) and the whole team worked really
hard to get our car ready to race. I can’t thank them all enough for their efforts.
“Starting off in wet conditions isn’t the ideal way to take the green flag. But, this
Nitro team was ready for whatever conditions presented themselves and I drove as
smart as possible to stay on the track.
“Once things started to dry up, I knew were going to be good by how the car was
handling through all the turns. It makes a huge difference when you know you’re
competitive and can keep up with the leaders.
“I really wanted to have a great run with Ken Gilreath and his wife, Tina, from
AAN Adjusters being at the track. We accomplished that by finishing seventh to
make it a really strong weekend for everyone.”
The next event is the TransAm Memorial Day Classic at Lime Rock Park, CT. For
